Detroit Receiving and Sinai-Grace, two hospitals that are part of the Detroit Medical Center system, received "F" grades on patient safety.

The grades come from Leapfrog Group, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that serves as a watchdog for patients. It describes itself as the nation’s premier advocate of transparency in health care.

Bret Jackson, president and CEO of the Economic Alliance for Michigan, which collaborated with Leapfrog on the study, tells Michigan Public:

“There are some areas where they may even be the worst hospital in the country for a specific metric."
