Former WDET Radio Personality Judy Adams Dies at 75

Former WDET Program Director and host Judy Adams died Tuesday after battling an illness, the station reports. She was 75.

Adams was at WDET for 30 years before she was forced out of her position in 2005, the Detroit Free Press reports.

After that, she went on to become producer and host at CJAM 99.1 FM, according to her Linkedin page.

She also worked as a guest host at WRCJ and a jazz blogger for the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe.

Former WDET General Manager Caryn G. Mathes posted on Linkedin: 

"Deeply saddened to learn of the death this morning of my 23-year partner in leadership of WDET-FM Detroit, Judy Adams."

"Judy was a brilliant radio on-air talent, programmer, marketer, composer and events designer and had an extraordinary ability to develop new talent. Many people owe the careers they have today, to Judy."

"My condolences to her son Anthony Minne and her family."
