The final glass panel was installed on the Hudson’s Detroit tower exterior, marking the completion of the façade on Woodward Avenue in the center of downtown, Bedrock, Dan Gilbert's company, announced Tuesday. The panel was placed on the 47th floor.
In a press release, Bedrock stated:
With the completion of the façade at Hudson’s, work continues on the 1.5 million square foot mixed-use development. The tower is set to house The Detroit EDITION hotel and The Residences at The Detroit EDITION.
Bedrock also provided these detail:
- The tower’s façade now includes a total of 4,677 panels.
- Individual panels range from 11 - 16 feet tall and weigh up to 2,200 pounds.
- Approximately 100,000 hours were spent on panel façade installation.
