The preliminary conclusion was that two children, ages 2 and 9, who died in a van parked in a Greektown Detroit parking garage, froze to death last month.
However, the medical examiner has now concluded that they died from carbon monoxide poisoning and that it was an accidental death, according to WXYZ.
The two children were identified as 2-year-old A’Millah Currie and 9-year-old Darnell Currie Jr.
Police said the mother, Tateona Williams, her mother, and five children were sleeping in the parking garage at the Hollywood Casino Hotel in Greektown when the two children were found motionless.
