Drake Ariel Froust, 31, of Inkster, has been charged with felony murder and first-degree child abuse in the 2023 death of his two-month-old son, Leviathan Froust.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office alleges that on Aug. 21, 2023, around 3 a.m., in the 4300 block of Spruce Street in Inkster, Froust fatally assaulted his son.
About an hour later, police responded to the home, where they found the boy unresponsive. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died about a month later.
Medical examiners determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma caused by shaking.
Froust was arraigned Friday in Inkster's 22nd District Court and remanded to jail pending the next hearing on March 12.
