Starbucks in Warren Becomes 18th Michigan Store to Unionize

Starbucks, the omnipresent coffee shop, continues to face pushback from its workers.

The latest: The Starbucks at 28550 Dequindre Road in Warren has become the 18th shop in Michigan to unionize, according to Crain's Detroit Business. Workers voted on March 18 to join Starbucks Workers United, which represents about 11,000 employees across more than 550 shops.

Starbucks has more than 17,000 locations in the U.S. and 283 stores in Michigan.

The average hourly pay of a Starbucks barista in Michigan is $14.92, according to the job website Indeed.
