Detroit police officer James Clark Davis III, 27, has been charged with stealing multiple pairs of sneakers from fellow officers, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday.

Authorities allege that between September 4, 2024, and January 9, 2025, Officer Davis stole the sneakers from a shared locker room at the Detroit Police Department Downtown Services in the 20 block of Atwater Street.

He faces three counts of larceny in a building and one count of receiving and concealing stolen property valued between $200 and $1,000.

He was arraigned Thursday in Detroit's 36th District Court and given a $25,000 personal bond.

He was ordered not to have contact with the Detroit Police Department Downtown Services or the victims in the case. He also cannot leave Michigan without the court's permission.

A probable cause conference is set for April 8. A preliminary examination is scheduled for April 15.
