Gallery: Metro Detroiters, Fed Up With Trump, Join National 'Hands Off' Protest

Cold, damp weather and overcast skies didn't stop thousands of protesters in Metro Detroit from joining the nationwide "Hands Off" movement on Saturday to speak out loudly against what President Donald Trump and Elon Musk are doing to the U.S.

Thousands of protesters marched from the Detroit Institute of Arts in the early afternoon to Little Caesars Arena and back, carrying signs. One displayed a photo of Elon Musk giving the "Heil Hitler" salute, with the caption: "There's Only One Immigrant Taking Away American Jobs." Another sign read: "Hands Off the Future Our Children Deserve," and another said, "Too Much Shit for 1 Sign."

Several miles to the north, protesters lined Woodward Avenue in Ferndale with signs protesting the Trump administration. One said, "Trump for Prison," and another read, "Missing in Action: 2 Democratic Senators from Michigan."

Many motorists going up and down Woodward Avenue in Detroit and Ferndale honked in support, though witnesses said there were a few who gave protesters the finger.

There were also protests around Michigan including in Traverse City, Lansing, Marquette, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Houghton, Hazel Park, Midland, and in Milan where one protester held a sign reading: "Mein Trumpf.".

There were also mass protests in Washington, D.C., New York, Boston, Atlanta and other major cities across America.
