There have been more than 120 immigration criminal cases filed by Detroit federal prosecutors this year, a spike which reflects the Trump administration's aggressive policies.

The Detroit Free Press reports:

Federal prosecutors say they've charged 124 people with immigration related crimes since the start of the year. That's more than they brought in the past two years combined.

The Free Press analyzed 112 of these cases, all filed since Trump took office. Almost every person involved is charged with illegally returning to the U.S. after previous deportations, a felony. But most cases do not cite criminal histories involving violence or drugs.
