state Sen. Mallory McMorrow
When running for office, it never hurts to have money in your campaign war chest.
State Sen. Mallory McMorrow raised $2.1 million in the last quarter in her bid for Michigan's open U.S. Senate seat—the most of any Democratic candidate, Crain's Detroit Business reports, adding:
Former Wayne County health director Abdul El-Sayed collected $1.8 million U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens took in $2.8 million, though $1.5 million was transferred from her House committee. State Rep. Joe Tate, who entered the race in May after the others launched in April, lagged behind with $193,000 in contributions.
Mike Rogers, the 2024 GOP nominee, is the favorite at this stage, though U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga is strongly considering a bid. Rogers, who also started his campaign in April, raised $1.5 million through June 30 across his regular committee and a joint fundraising committee.
