Corktown is one of those Detroit neighborhoods that could always use more housing inventory.

Corktown Development Properties LLC, which is registered to Andra Rush, is planning a 60-unit, nine-story mid-rise apartment building at 1728 Michigan Ave., with about 2,500 square feet of commercial space, reports Crain's Detroit Business.

The building would be located on the north side of Michigan Avenue, between Cochrane Street on the east and Harrison Street on the west. The site is currently a parking lot.

Crain's reports:

At nine stories, it would be among the larger developments cropping up in the Detroit neighborhood in recent years. Both the Godfrey Hotel and Perennial apartments are seven stories on the other side of Michigan Avenue, and The Corner is four stories on the site of the former Tiger Stadium.
