After 123 years in business, the Royal Oak Tribune, based in downtown Royal Oak, has shut down its newspaper and website. The last day of publication was Wednesday.
"While the Tribune will not continue, the impact of the stories we have told, the connections we’ve created within the community, and the relationships we have built will live on through our other publications," the paper posted.
The publication is owned by the Denver-based MediaNews Group, which also owns The Detroit News, The Oakland Press, and The Macomb Daily.
MediaNews Group has also recently shut down The Press & Guide of Dearborn and The Voice of New Baltimore.
