New MSU Coach Will Make Minimum of $30 Million With 5-Year Contract

Pat Fitzgerald, the freshly minted Michigan State University football coach, will make a minimum of $30 million during his five-year contract and could get up to $54 million over eight years if he hits certain goals, Crain's Detroit Business reports.

Crain's reports: 

Fitzgerald’s contract, effective Dec. 1, 2025, through Jan. 31, 2031, pays him a base salary of $4 million per year plus $1 million in supplemental pay the first year, increasing $500,000 per year to $3 million supplemental in the last of his five-year contract, according to a terms sheet MSU provided to Crain’s.
