A homeowner in Fowlerville in Livingston County shot and killed an intruder on Christmas after the man entered the home and shot and wounded him, the Livingston Daily reports.
The incident happened around 7 p.m.
According to a preliminary investigation, the intruder was the estranged husband of a woman acquaintance who was visiting the homeowner. He entered the home and fired multiple shots, hitting the homeowner twice, the Livingston Daily reports.
The homeowner returned fire and killed the man, who had traveled from Lake Orion.
The homeowner was treated at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor for non-life-threatening injuries.
