Berkley Theater
The vacant Berkley Theater on 12 Mile Road in downtown Berkley will soon become a concert venue.
Glenn Wilhelm, owner of the entertainment venue The Roxy in Rochester, acquired the building for $4 million, with a plan to bring live entertainment to downtown Berkley, The Detroit News reports.
The new BERKLEY Entertainment Complex will pay homage to the building's history and provide modern amenities by May, The News reports.
The theater operated from 1941 to 1993. For three decades, it was a Rite Aid, which went out of business in 2024.
