Two minutes after Ayman Ghazali drove his truck into Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township last Thursday, authorities say his ex-wife called Dearborn Heights police, concerned he was going to hurt himself, WXYZ’s Ross Jones reports.

“He’s, like, suicidal,” said Ghazali’s ex-wife in a 911 call obtained by WXYZ. She said Ghazali’s “voice is not stable. I just want to make sure he’s okay.”

The ex-wife told police she had talked to Ghazali, who “told her to send money overseas” before the call ended, according to the police report. When she tried to call him back, she only reached his voicemail, WXYZ reports.

“I’m scared. I don’t know if there’s anything—I don’t know if there’s anything—but he’s by himself,” she said on the recording.

Ghazali, 41, a Dearborn Heights restaurant owner, rammed his Ford F-150 into the synagogue on Thursday, where 103 children were attending daycare or preschool. During a gunfight with security, he shot himself in the head, the FBI has said.

All the children and staff were able to exit the synagogue safely.

Ghazali and his wife divorced last year. They have two children.

The Israel Defense Forces on Sunday said that it had killed his brother Ibrahim Muhammad Ghazali, a Hezbollah commander, during an air strike last week.

CNN reported that the mayor of the Lebanese town of Mashghara previously told CNN that Ayman Ghazali’s brothers, including Ibrahim, were killed in an airstrike on March 5, and that Ibrahim Ghazali’s children were also killed in the strike.
