
Swedish retailer Ikea on Monday announced plans to open its second Michigan store — this time in Auburn Hills at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets. It's expected to open in early summer.
The company is describing it as a "Pop up Store with Pick Up," explaining in a press release:
"This location offers customers the opportunity to meet with IKEA coworkers to plan and order home furnishing solutions that may require additional support, such as kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms. Customers can also pick up nearly 500 of IKEA’s most popular home furnishing accessories and collect larger furniture orders placed online at IKEA.com."
Online shoppers will be able to pick up certain products.
The first store opened in Canton in 2006.
The new store at 4000 Baldwin Rd. in Auburn Hills, Michigan, will be 4,500 square feet.
