Gas prices in Michigan are down 14 cents from last week, with motorists now paying an average of $4.73 per gallon for regular unleaded, AAA reports.
The current average is 70 cents more than this time last month and $1.66 more than this time last year.
Motorists are paying an average of $71 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline, an increase of about $20 from 2025's highest price last August, according to AAA.
The Energy Information Administration reports that gasoline demand decreased from 9.10 million barrels per day to 8.81 million. Total domestic gasoline supply decreased from 222.3 million barrels to 219.8 million.
"Gas prices in Michigan have dropped 14 cents compared to last week, giving drivers some relief," said AAA spokesperson Adrienne Woodland in a statement. "But with ongoing volatility, prices could change
