On a sunny, warm Saturday, the city of Detroit Department of Elections kicked off the start of nine days in-person voting in Michigan with a block party on W. Grand Blvd. in front of its office. The festivities included games and food trucks.
Early voting runs from Saturday, July 27 through Sunday, Aug. 4. The official election date is Aug 6.
