Tim Pamplin, aka the "Nightcam" guy, who recently took a buyout from WDIV, has taken a reporting job at WWJ News Radio 950.

Pamplin, 56, was far more recognizable on WDIV for his signature English accent than his face.

He did his own camera work and voice-over for news reports from the field, but viewers never saw his face on camera. His image will remain elusive now that he's doing a radio gig.

After more than 30 years with WDIV, Pamplin took a buyout, along with a number of other off-camera and on-camera notables including Bernie Smilovitz, Rod Meloni, Paula Tutman and Mara MacDonald. Their last day was July 1.

Pamplin tells Deadline Detroit he's likely to go on air new week.

"I'm very excited," he texted.
