A 57-year-old man was swimming Saturday at Lake St. Clair Metropark beach in Macomb County when he slipped under the water and drowned, the Macomb Daily reports.
The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. in the Harrison Township park.
“A nearby friend located him and pulled him to the surface at which time life saving efforts were attempted,” the Macomb County Sheriff's Office said, according to the publication. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said a total of 10 people have drowned this summer, the Macomb Daily reports.
