Macomb County Clerk Anthony Forlini says he's reported possible voter fraud to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office and the Secretary of State after determining that four people voted twice in the Aug. 6 primary in St. Clair Shores, once by absentee ballot and another at the polls.

“Our office has requested a thorough investigative process of each instance and if a crime was committed, we expect the lawbreakers to be held accountable to the furthest extent of the law,” Forlini said in a press release, according to the Macomb Daily, which reported:

Forlini said when the voters arrived at the polling location Aug. 6 to cast a ballot, they were told by a poll worker that records showed they already voted. Each person denied they voted, and the poll worker allowed them to cast a ballot.Forlini said the poll worker shouldn’t have been allowed to bypass the system and allow the tally; only the local clerk of a community should be allowed to do that, he said.
