Wayne County Circuit Judge Cylenthia Miller was sentenced to 90 days probation Monday for bringing a loaded, unregistered 380 caliber Smith & Wesson firearm through security at Detroit Metropolitan Airport in June, WXYZ's Ross Jones reports. She was also ordered to pay $1,400 in fines and court costs.

Miller pleaded no contest Monday before a 34th District Court judge in Romulus. A no contest plea means a person accepts a conviction but does not admit guilt. She made the plea virtually from her car.

If she avoids additional charges over the next three months, her record could be scrubbed, WXYZ reports.

The judge told police the gun was not registered. Her attorney Todd Perkins says Miller has a valid concealed pistol license, WXYZ reports.

In June, a second warrant request was submitted to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office for failing to register the gun.

Because of a possible conflict of interest, the office transferred the case to the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office, which has yet to decide whether to file additional charges.
