In these often divisive times, Metro Detroiters Alan H. Kideckel and Randy Holloway have launched an uplifting podcast featuring positive people who have overcome adversity and great challenges in life.

"It is my goal to communicate to others, no matter what adversity or challenge someone has, there is a positive with every situation," says Kideckel a Detroit native, a 1977 Oak Park High graduate and former Berkley City Councilman.

Titled "Talking Positive with Randy and Alan," the first podcast, released late last month, featured Steve Growe of Oak Park, who bounced back from a devastating motor cycle accident after an extended stay in the hospital.

Growe tells the duo you can wallow in life from setbacks or move forward. He has always chosen the latter.

Kideckel, a Wayne State University graduate, who resides in Berkley, has had a number of jobs in different fields, including as an insurance agent. He said he's always had an entrepreneurial spirit and continues to explore opportunities.

In 2021, Kideckel published an autobiography titled; “Surviving with a Positive Attitude," which detailed his struggle to help his ailing wife and his aging parents -- all while staying positive. After 13 1/2 years of marriage, his wife Andrea passed in 1998.

His podcast partner, Randy Holloway of Warren has worked for more than two decades in media. He's been a Sundance Institute Fellow and a New York Foundation for the Arts ARTSPIRE Fellow.

Over the years he's worked as a producer/writer at FOX 2 News, lead producer of the internationally syndicated Dr. Nandi Show and as a contributing writer/producer for the BET and WB networks.

He's also had his hand in documentaries and webisodes.
