Campbell’s Soup used to run a commercial that said, “M’m! M’m! Good!”
Now, the company, based in Camden, N.J., has filed a lawsuit against Detroit congressional candidate Shelby Campbell — a case that might as well say, “M’m! M’m! Bad!”
The company on Friday filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Detroit, claiming that Campbell, 31, a candidate in Detroit’s 13th Congressional District, has used its logo without authorization and refuses to stop, the Detroit News reports. The company alleges a trademark violation, false designation of origin and false endorsement.
Campbell, a third-generation auto worker, had an image of a Campbell Soup can that says: "Soup for Change. 2026." Campbell's campaign slogan is "Soup 4 Change!"
Campbell told The Detroit News she has always felt a connection to the soup brand and believed using the logo for a single batch of stickers was harmless.
